Basically a tablet laptop is really a cross between a laptop computer and a PDA. There are two types of tablet laptops available in the stores today that are created for mobile computing. The two types are convertible and slate.

Convertible tablet laptops appear like a conventional notebook but have displays that can swivel and fold flat facing outward. On the other hand the slate are all screen with no attached keyboard. They both use a special edition on Windows XP that will function with no keyboard by using a stylus and/or touchscreen to enter data and navigate. If you regularly use a clipboard or getting signatures is an important part of your work then a tablet design and software are an effective way to digitize your notes and files quickly, easily and portably.

There are actuallyseveral pros and cons to using tablet laptops, a few of which include:
Tablets are lighter and smaller than traditional laptops making them more convenient to carry. Situations where a keyboard if not ideal including single handed use or standing. It can be laid flat on the working surface. This is ideal when you are at a convention, as a laptop screen must be kept vertical often producing an obstructed view for yourself or other people close to you. In some situations the touch screen allows for more straightforward navigation, for example image manipulation or mouse oriented games. Various tablets are pre-loaded with multi- touch capabilities, which can recognize multiple simultaneous finger touches, allowing for enhanced manipulation of on-screen objects. It is faster to input diagrams, symbols and math’s notations. Some people find it much easier and more natural to utilise a stylus as opposed to a mouse or touchpad to click on objects.

On the down side the tablet laptops can be considerably more expensive than your conventional notebook. There’s a higher risk of damage to the screen and hinge. Tablet laptops are handled a great deal more than conventional laptops and as their display also serves as an input device they run the chance of damage as a consequence of mistreatment. The hinges are required to rotate in more directions than a traditional laptop which increases the possibility of mechanical or electric failure.

Tablet laptops at the moment tend to have slower processing times than conventional~standard~regular~traditional} laptops, however these are improving. It can be slower to input handwritten data as opposed to typing and when in slate mode this forces the user to move their arm continually while writing. Your computing needs and work setting will determined whether a tablet laptop is the best alternative for you.
