Be sure to fill in your profile, add a photo opf yourself and make the content of your tweets relevant and if you decide to include a link to your site or elsewhere, you must use a URL shortening service. There are loads of these free services springing up, but the most popular is bit.ly and it offers tracking details if you sign up for a free account. This way you can tell how many people clisked on your link. This is great if you are a marketer and are testing various sales pitches in your tweets. You can see which tweets solicit the most clicks.

When you start building a large following, be careful how quickly you build a follower list. When using automation software, it’s important to make it appear human, and not robotic. I only follow a maximum of 100 a day, and unfollow those who dopn’t follow me back within 6 days.
