While live internet tv technology and choice continues to rise, the prices are falling. For cable though its a different story, a report from the Bureau of labour Statistics shows that during the last 10 years, the cost of cable and satellite facilitates has increased by an inflation busting 43%.

During that same period, mobile phones, televisions and internet services have all dropped in cost.And although cable companies reasonableness they are having to bear the cost of supply sophisticated DVR’s and HD channels, but does this justify the never windup increases?

The biggest reason for companies demanding ever higher subscription costs appears to be that the viewer is putting up with it. The price increases are tolerated because it is a luxuriousness they cannot live without. Mike Paxton, a TV analyst for research firm In-Stat said:- “Historically, particularly when the economy is poor, one of the last things households will consider cutting is their pay TV. They will cut back on vacations, food costs, won’t go out to eat, won’t go to the movies, turn the thermostat up or down – but in-home amusement is one of the last things they cut. The cord-cutting phenomenon has been kind of a myth.”

The number of people who pay for TV has remained relatively stable, but cable has been steadily losing ground to satellite services and also telephone companies’ services, like U-verse. Cable lost about 1.1 million lecturers last year, according to In-Stat, while satellite gained 1.2 million and telephone companies gained around 2 million extra subscribers.

 Although channel numbers have increased over the years, the average cable viewer has a regularly channel number they watch of between 12 and 15 . This number has remained constant for many years.
 

The cable companies will have to adapt to keep an more and more ungratified subscriber base happy. Users will be looking to receive content both on the internet and via mobile phone, this is already in the surgical operation of happening from some suppliers like Comcast offering an online service.

And the bad news from all you distressed subscribers is that the cable and satellite companies are aware that there is still more leeway in price before consumers refuse to pay, that figure is beleived to be around $100 a month for internet TV services. I remember working for a company that wasnt too interested about losing customers so long as we had more joining up. The cable companies probably work on a comparable principle, so get watching internet tv, the choice is rising every day, much of it is free and soon you will be watching it even if you dont realise. The alternative is to get stung for even higher subscriptions.

Hulu was a bully idea when launched, Live Internet TV on disoriented episodes of tv shows by visiting a website. But when it became clear it was never going to turn a profit using the free good example, coupled with a maturing online tv market. The future is looking not so rosey.

Hulu where to next?
When Comedy Central took down two of the most popular shows on Hulu — “The Daily Show” and “The Colbert Report”, due to a dispute over advertising gross share.  Then came UK network ITV’s decision to concentrate on their own website and snub Hulu.
 

But the alternative of charging to view, may well send viewers run and kill off the website’s current growth. This could leave-taking Hulu in an even worse condition. “There are very few people who would be willing to pay for it,” said Bruce Leichtman, president of the Leichtman Research Group.  Visitors will surely drop as Comedy Central fans leave the site, and by leaving they show that it doesn’t need Hulu to bring in online traffic and revenue. So Hulu is becoming the middle man that nobody wants to pay for. So that leaves Hulu needing to find a workable pay model.
 

up to now, a Leichtman survey showed that 81% “strongly disagree” with the feeling of paying $9.95 a month for a service like Hulu, whilst around 5% “strongly agree” to pay. So its not going to be easy, and Hulu will have to offer content that viewers cannot find easily somewhere else.

The BBC Iplayer continues to grow and grow, figures for February released by the BBC show just how popular the iPlayer platform is.  Iplayer visitors spent on average 64 transactions watching episodes of tv shows, and radio listeners heard over 163 minutes of audio.

Erik Huggers, responsible for the iPlayer, said the catch-up TV platform would soon boast partnerships with the likes of Facebook and Twitter, to make the iPlayer ignite screw “more social”.
 

 Most popular show was the live episode of EastEnders, which pronounced the show’s 26th anniversary. Over 1.13 million people streamed the show via the iPlayer service to find out who killed Archie. Many viewers wanting to rewatch the show to subject for mistakes made over the live 30 minutes of content.
